This large cat breed is devoted, active, and enjoys living in households containing active individuals, families, other pets, and children.

Breed Overview

Originating in Russia, for the last thousand years or so, it proudly serves as its national cat. These big and powerful cats are affectionate, devoted, active, and athletic. They enjoy playing and are gentle with children and other pets. They are ideal companions for families with children, singles with other pets, first-time cat owners, and active households. Brushing several times per week is required for coat upkeep.
