The York Chocolate originated during the 1980s in New York. This cat breed has a nice balance of being loving and devoted, as well as being high energy and playful. They enjoy being in the lap of their human companion and are affectionate in return. They also love to be help and although they may be quiet, they are enthusiastic purrers. They have a fascination with water and enjoy leaping into sinks and tubs. They get along well with children and other pets but tend to be cautious of strangers. Brushing their coats two to three times per week is beneficial for upkeep.
