Wire Fox Terrier
This dog loves to play, run, chase, and hunt. It is independent and mischievous and tends to dig and bark.
Breed Overview
The Wire Fox Terrier was said to originate in England from the rough-coated Black and Tan Terrier. Like the Smooth, the Wire Fox Terrier was bred to aid hunters in driving foxes out of hiding. These energetic dogs are courageous, alert, playful and affectionate yet independent. They love to explore, run, hunt, play, and chase so exercise requirements for these guys includes vigorous exercise and mental challenges or games to keep them busy and happy. The Wire Fox Terrier makes a good companion to athletic, active people and those that like to spend time outdoors. They shed less than the Smooths and need combing a few times per week plus trimming every few months.
