Brachycephalic Syndrome

Description: A respiratory disorder, often in flat-faced dogs, including upper airway abnormalities such as stenotic nares and elongated soft palate. As an upper respiratory condition, Brachycephalic syndrome causes airflow resistance in short nosed dog breeds. This is caused by a shortened bone structure and can be treated with corticosteroids and oxygen therapy.
