Tumors

Description: A tumor is a lesion or swelling caused by abnormal growth of cells. Many canine tumors are non-cancerous, but those that are cancerous can be successfully treated.

What to Watch For: Look for an abnormal growth on part of the body.

Diagnosis: Your veterinarian may perform a fine needle aspiration biopsy to determine the type tumor by taking a sample of the tumor cells.

Treatment: Tumors are treated by surgical removal, chemotherapy, or radiation.
